OPERATING A FIRE EXTINGUISHER

Using the P.A.S.S. technique will assist in the ability to operate the fire extinguisher properly.

P - Pull the Pin

This will cause the tamper seal to break.

A - Aim 

Aim the hose, horn, or nozzle down low at the base of the fire.

​

S - Squeeze

Squeeze the handle and upper lever together to release the extinguishing agent.

​

S - Sweep

Sweep slowly from side to side at the base of the fire.  Then check to see if the fire has gone out.  If not, Aim, Squeeze, and Sweep again until the fire has been extinguished.
